Mistakes are central to the cross. "He didn't die for nothing" as the song goes. I like you point about David seeing covenant love in the heart of God (PS 51). Very cool.

Without His love ("Father forgive them"), mistakes would lead us to lies. The lies tell us mistakes make us look hopelessly weak, and unacceptable to God, the beginning of a downward spiral. Our God offers more to pro mistake-makers who choose Him (David, Paul, Peter and many more). His strength is made perfect in our weakness.

I had to apologize to my teenage daughter yesterday...now that was hard. I made a HUGE wrong turn that cost 100 miles last week. Making it worse, I blamed her as the navigator. God literally would not let me rest, and I knew I had to tell her she was more important to me than my pride. It opened a door where one had been closed, hope for us both.

It is hard to admit we are wrong, and turn back, but glorious compared to the alternative. Maybe that's why times of refreshing comes from repentance (Acts 3:19).

Thanks Tony for reminding us, and leading us to the way back. The cross is there too.

OOPs,

my comments above relate to Tony's message from Today (Week #3), which hasn't posted yet.

Definitely worth the return trip!
